Distributed Profiles
Citrix
These profiles are used to support GDMA monitoring of Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop ,and reference a variety of VBS and PowerShell scripts we already include in our Windows GDMA release. Database
These profiles relate to the monitoring of various databases. The principal category classification and parent directory for these profiles in GroundWork Monitor is Database.

Page:nrpe mssql — Monitors a Microsoft SQL Server using Nagios Remote Plugin Executor (NRPE). NRPE is used by the Nagios server to communicate with the Windows server.

Page:nsclient mysql — Monitors a Microsoft SQL Server using NSClient. NSClient is used by the Nagios server to communicate with the Windows server.

Page:postgresql database — This profile is used to perform active checks of individual PostgreSQL databases. This profile is designed to be modular, in that adding new databases to monitoring is a matter of adding additional instances to each service you wish to monitor on a specific database.

Page:service ldap — Monitors LDAP services on a remote server.

Page:service mysql — Monitors several statistics for MySQL servers, local or remote, using the connection with tcp port 3306 to MySQL.

Page:ssh ldap — Monitors a UNIX LDAP Server. LDAP services are monitored remotely. Monitoring scripts are installed on the remote server and called from the GroundWork server using the SSH protocol.

Page:ssh mysql — Monitors a MySQL database on a remote Unix system by using the SSH protocol for remote access.

Page:wmi ldap — Monitors a Windows LDAP Server using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). Nagios Remote Plugin Executor (NRPE) is used by the Nagios server to communicate with the WMI proxy server. This proxy server queries the monitored Windows server for measurements and status using WMI.

Page:wmi mysql — Monitors a Microsoft SQL Server using Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). Nagios Remote Plugin Executor (NRPE) is used by the Nagios server to communicate with the WMI proxy server. This proxy server queries the monitored Windows server for measurements and status using WMI.

GDMA
These profiles relate to monitoring with the GroundWork Distributed Monitoring Agent (GDMA).

Hitachi
These profiles are used to support GDMA monitoring of the respective Hitachi storage platforms, and reference two distinct Windows binaries, check_HDvM.exe and check_HTnM.exe, which are not currently provided in our GDMA releases. SAP HANA

SNMP
Theses profiles use SNMP to monitor services on a remote device and communicate back information to the GroundWork monitoring server. The principal category classification and parent directory for these profiles is SNMP.

Page:snmp aix — Monitors several statistics for AIX servers.

Page:snmp network — Monitors any network device using SNMP. A set of services issues an SNMP GET command to get interface operational status (ifoperstatus), interface input and output utilization, and interface in/out and error/discard statistics for interface 1. This profile can be extended to monitor additional interfaces or other SNMP parameters.

Page:snmp traps — This service profile includes the service checks necessary to process incoming SNMP traps from remote servers within GroundWork Monitor. Note that this functionality has been disabled in GroundWork 8.x, and requires a solution involving some extra configuration steps to work. If you need this capability, please contact GroundWork Support for instructions and a package of additional free open source software.

Page:snmp win2k3 — Monitors several statistics for Windows 2003 servers via SNMP.
SSH
These profiles use SSH (Secure Shell) to monitor services on a remote device and communicate back information to the GroundWork monitoring server. The GroundWork standard method of monitoring UNIX servers is to have the GroundWork Monitor server connect to the monitored server using SSH and execute specially written plugins that return operating system and application properties. These plugins are included with GroundWork Monitor and numerous additional plugins are available in the open source community. The principal category classification and parent directory for these profiles is SSH.

Page:ssh apache — Monitors a UNIX Apache web server. HTTP and HTTPS services are monitored remotely. A monitoring script is installed on the remote server and called from the GroundWork server using the SSH protocol. The Apache configuration must be changed to allow the monitoring server to check the Apache server status.

A monitoring script is installed on the remote server and called from the GroundWork server using the SSH protocol.
