GroundWork Support 8 DOCUMENTATION Current: Administration Administration Docker Commands — This page outlines commonly used docker-compose and docker commands used in GroundWork Monitor. Certificates — Using SSL certificates is no longer an option, it's a requirement. Modern browsers now object to http-only sites, and even self-signed certs are getting harder to use, with anti-virus programs denying access to sites they can't verify (and rightfully so). Configuration Files — GroundWork 8 has default settings that will work for most environments, however there are some adjustment you can make, and may need to make, to allow it to be used in one or more of your networks. Backup and Restore — Database Backup and Restore, how to back up and restore individual GroundWork 8 databases. System Backup and Restore, GroundWork Monitor 8 is comprised of containers and data. All data is on volumes that can be easily backed up and transferred, and restored. Users Roles and Permissions — GroundWork Monitor incorporates Role Based Access Control (RBAC) to enable Administrators to restrict specific system access to authorized users. This includes access control at the role level for menu navigation, inventory visibility and configuration of inventory entities including host groups, service groups, and custom groups. Menu Editor — The Menu Editor feature allows administrators to customize the GroundWork menu by modifying top-level and sub-menu items. Each of the menu items can be assigned secure access by role to determine who can access. LDAP Mapping — GroundWork Monitor can authenticate/authorize through GroundWork or LDAP/AD. Administrators can configure LDAP mapping of LDAP containers to GroundWork roles from one or more domains, and reorder domains to control which are used. System Security — The Security page is the location for the internal password administration. REST-API password encryption is supported and enabled by default. ×
